What type of Garden Rooms do we provide?

Here at Kidby’s, we know there is no one size fits all approach when it comes to insulated garden rooms and summer houses for our customers in Reading and the surrounding areas.  The city itself has a wide range of different architectural styles, covering everything from the Gothic to Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian periods, which is why we pride ourselves on providing our clients with an entirely bespoke service when it comes to designing modern garden rooms, studios, annexes and so on.

Each of our buildings can be fully customised to suit what you have in mind, ensuring that your new garden room does Reading proud while giving you all the additional living space you need, whatever use you have in store for it. It’s all about optimising use of the space you have available, but it can be difficult to work out how best to accommodate everything you want to achieve – which is where the Kidby’s team really comes into its own.

We have many insulated wooden sheds and garden rooms for many different uses. Explore the types of insulated rooms we provide below.

Keep Warm All Year Round

Insulated Garden Rooms

Many of our garden rooms are designed to be used all year round which can be made suitable with double glazing, insulation and internal cladding. We are based in Reading but also cater to surrounding areas including Reading, Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Hampshire, Buckinghamshire and Surrey.

What is an Insulated Garden Room?

An insulated garden room is a standalone structure in a garden or backyard that is designed to provide a well-insulated and comfortable space for various activities. These rooms are equipped with insulation materials in the walls, roof, and floor, helping to regulate temperature and make the space usable throughout the year.

Insulated garden rooms are versatile and can serve as home offices, studios, gyms, or additional living spaces, ensuring a cozy and energy-efficient environment even during colder or hotter seasons.

Garden Rooms FAQs

Garden buildings placed within 2m of a boundary will require to be below 2.5m in overall from ground level before planning is required.

All of our buildings are made within 2.5m overall height. Some areas may still require planning such as areas of outstanding beauty or listed grounds.

If a garden building is more than 2m from a boundary the overall height for a dual pitch is increased to 4m before planning is required.

Side access with a minimum of 2.2m height clearance is required if possible. However, if this is not possible, our sectional buildings can be made in sections suitable to suit restricted access if noted at the time of purchase.

We complete 90% of our buildings within our workshop which means less time on site. Our usual installation time is 1-2 days. Internal finishes such as electrical fit-outs , insulation and internal cladding can add on an additional day.

Yes and we love a challenge! All of our buildings are made from scratch in our workshops. This allows us to make buildings of all shape and sizes. We can make buildings as bespoke as the mind can imagine, so feel free to send your ideas our way!

We have many Garden Rooms to suit your needs

When considering a garden shed, think about what purpose it will be used for, where it will be placed and what features you require. We will ensure that the final product aligns with your expectations. We supply to all of Oxford and Oxfordshire.

Tailored Dimensions:

Our Bespoke sheds can be crafted to any size, ensuring that the shed fits perfectly within the available space in your garden or yard. This customization allows you to maximize the use of your outdoor area while meeting your storage or functional requirements.

Material Selection:

Custom sheds often offer flexibility in material choices. While timber is a popular option, you may have the freedom to choose other materials such as metal or PVC based on your preferences, durability needs, and aesthetic considerations.

Design and Features:

The design of bespoke sheds can be adapted to your specific preferences. This includes the number and placement of doors and windows, interior shelving, ventilation options, and any other features that would make the shed more functional for your intended use.

Roof Styles:

You can choose from various roof styles, such as apex (gable), pent, or even more unique designs. The choice of roof style can affect the shed's appearance, as well as its functionality in terms of water drainage and interior space.

Insulation and Finishes:

Depending on your requirements, you can customize the level of insulation for your shed. This is particularly useful if you plan to use the shed for activities that require a controlled interior environment. You may also have options for exterior finishes, colours, and treatments.
