How To Prepare A Shed Base Guide

It’s important that you prepare your garden for your new timber building installation, but it can be difficult to know how best to go about doing so successfully if you’ve never done it before. This is where the Kidbys team really comes into its own, bringing you all the skills and experience required to ensure that your timber buildings withstand the test of time.

Concrete Base

100mm Fibre reinforced concrete base. Concrete bases are ideal for any buildings which are likely to have any heavy equipment inside.

Subframes

We manufacture and install pressure treated timber subframes which include post saver wraps to help prevent rotting timbers as seen below.

Post Protection

Structural posts are heat-wrapped before being bedded in concrete.

Ground screws

The ground screw is ideal for providing a solid base for garden rooms, summer house and garden sheds.

Timber bearers

Pressure treated timber bearers plus packing suitable for existing solid ground.

Concrete base with brick course build-up

Buildings with exposed concrete floor are typically where storage of a motor vehicle is required. Kidbys can design your building to house other engine propelled vehicles like a boat, jet ski (personal water craft), motor cycle, tractor and trailer.

Two or three courses of bricks are run around the perimeter of the concrete base in which to install your building walls onto. Doors are dropped lower with ground clearance.
